Comment: Not Guity VerdictI had the honor to hire Ryan Ramsayer as my DUI (OWI) attorney. I contacted Ryan right after a warrant was issued for my arrest following 3 months after the incident in which I was accused of my DUI. Ryan immediately began working and got me a court date via zoom (due to COVID-19). Warrant was removed, I attended my court date and receive pre-trial date. After a series of pre-trial court dates, the data master (breathalyzer machine results) was suppressed due to falsification of the machine being certified and the police department knowing this while continuing to use the machine. This was a direct result of Ryan doing his job at the level of excellence. During trial Ryan stated the facts and emphasized the fact that a field sobriety test was not done correctly, in which during cross examination the arresting officer admitted to not doing the test to standard. The jury found me not guilty based on the facts and the closing argument which summed up the facts along with the totality of circumstances. Beyond a reasonable doubt, the prosecution attempted to convict me on inaccurate tests in which Ryan was not going to let happen. Throughout the whole process, Ryan maintained contact and answered my call 100% of the time. I couldnt have asked for a better lawyer or better result.

Comment: I was attacked this summer by two men while on my quad in an attempted theft of my quad and was assaulted and taken by ambulance to the hospital but my life was saved involving my gun. I was treated like the criminal by my local police department. My wife made a call at the scene and within four minutes Ryan was on the phone handling my case and giving us advice before they even took me away to the hospital. He continually checked on me and kept me up to date on my case from start to finish. He aggressively pursued the law enforcement and prosecutor until the truth prevailed and the entire case was thrown out. Ryan informed me every step of the way of where we were with the case, what was developing and what he would be doing next on my behalf. Comment: I like many other people I had a lapse in judgment. When i was arrested the cop was so reassuring that this is not going to be a big deal. He talked all buddy, buddy to me and acted as if he was my friend and that everything would be pled down with no problem. Once i was released i contacted a boss a my employment and found out what a big deal this really was. I know this was no time to take another chance with a possible good lawyer so I sought out the best. Patrick Barone was vary eager and understanding of my situation and wasted no time in addressing my concerns. Once the case was going though the court system it was like bad went to worse every time we went to court. I was originally written for a OWI then it was up charged to a Super Drunk because I blew a .17 and at this point I was at risk of losing my career. We had reached out to the prosecutor multiple times with out any luck. I was feeling like the whole world was out to get me. Patrick was alway reassuring and optimistic. It was literally 2 days before asking for trial by jury and the prosecutor approached Patrick at another court house in the area. The prosecutor then reduced the charge to a standard OWI. Patrick was vary supportive though out and even after the case was over. I still have my Career thanks to Patrick Barone.

I was facing 1-3 years prison time for a felony DUI probation violation in the 6th Circuit Court in front of Judge Cheryl Matthews. I once referred a former client who would have been deported had he been convicted because of his past non driving criminal record. He had already waived a jury before a very difficult judge, who was sure to convict him. Patrick entered the case, got the judge to allow the client to withdraw the jury waiver, and went to trial. Comment: I think the best and most advisable thing at time when hiring an attorney beyond speaking with them and reading reviews is to read what they have written. It goes as evident if they know what they are talking about and if they can be persuasive. I mention this because this is the realm of Amazon and false reviews about books, just as it is the realm of the review below me from someone who posted the exact same review all over the place and goes by a false name to discredit. Or people posting adds on Craigslist to write positive reviews on YELP.You can email me if you want. I dont go about recommending or giving referrals lightly as its a reflection upon me. I have no doubt that Mr. Barone is the best DUI defense attorney in the State and one of the best in the country. If you think hell charge you just $1500, however...that really isnt my thought process unless things have changed dramatically or its some kind of near pro-bono case.Hiring him the prosecutor doesnt escalate anything, the prosecutor in an Oakland County for example quits because they dont want the headache and everything changes to bending over backwards not to have to work hard as a prosecutor and dealing with someone with firm chemistry knowledge almost always knows more about the datamaster or what is in use than the officer that uses it, or the technician that is required to check it, and every single nuance.There are many attorneys that will represent you but are terrified of actually going to trial and having to be on their feet. The prosecutors know these attorneys, in the long run. Mr. Barone seems to relish it. The prosecutors know this. My experience is they dont like losing and you need the threat that when Mr. Barone says hell go to trial what it implies inherent with it and the likelihood of the prosecutor having to do work for a living and probably doing so at home...and losing anyway.The entire process involves so much literature that upon reading it in the end, if you wish, youll probably know more than the jack of all trades lawyers that dont specialize in anything. DUI law is extremely complicated, at times more so than some murder cases and..at times DUI and murder cases are the same thing of which Mr. Barone also has experience.I recommend checking an attorney for what they specialize in. Some do Criminal law and personal injury law, etc. Some do just Criminal law...then some do just DUI cases. Mr. Barone just does DUI type cases. Theres a point to this.Somebody who has written DUI books about DUI in Michigan that every defense attorney that does them and every prosecutor in Michigan has read probably has done enough research they wont charge you for the additional hours spent learning something new, because hes done it already. A large part of who you hire and not going to trial and getting a good deal has to do with the circumstances the prosecutor has to go through in moving forward. Not to give an association.... but when Geoffrey Fieger of all people mentioned how when you hire him prosecutors go...(#$#$#$) to themselves or other attorneys he had a point.Hes the best there is and has likely saved lives from all the anxiety and hell people go through with these kinds of cases.
