From the very beginning of my case I was nervous that I would be sent to jail because of the facts of my owi case and with a BAC on the higher side. Loren and his team worked endlessly and together on my case, were very compassionate, and cared about what happened to me and my future. He was always available if I had any questions, and able to give me the most favorable outcome that could come out of this with a very tough judge in the 48th district court. My original charge was reduced, no jail time, and I was given probation. During my sentencing, Mr.Randy Lewis stepped in to help and advised and assured me that he would not let me down and he did just that! He quickly identified issues that could cause self-incrimination if I were to testify. He did NOT let the prosecution bully me into testifying without the protection of immunity. Immunity was granted because of his expertise and knowledge of the law. Comment: I’m a criminal defense attorney myself, so it’s not particularly difficult for me to tell even with limited interaction whether another lawyer is good at what he or she does. Suffice it to say Mr. Dickstein is an excellent lawyer! Very reasonable fee to address a pretty bad speeding infraction, which I had defaulted on due to the fact that I am accustomed to a 30 day deadline as opposed to a 14 day deadline. He got the default set aside and, despite the fact that I was going WELL over the posted speed limit, made sure I got no points. Don’t waste time bargain bin shopping when it comes to legal issues… the fee he charges is fair and he’s a great lawyer. Just pay the man and rest easy.

Comment: So grateful to Randy!! I was charged with a misdemeanor for forgetting to renew my license and was an absolute wreck because of the possibility of being put on probation, which I had already gone through because of a prior DUI. The prosecutor had the full intention of making me do this and ordered me to appear before the court. Randy told me in no uncertain terms that he wasnt going to let that happen, but I was skeptical given how little my representation for that DUI was able to sway the judge and prosecutor for any ounce of leniency. Not only was Randy able to get rid of the misdemeanor, but the two civil infractions they were reduced to will not appear on my record. I didnt have to stand before the judge and, as a bonus, he was even able to get rid of the associated speeding ticket. I feel really blessed that I happened on this firm from a Google search, since things could have gone so much worse. Definitely money well spent

Comment: Im from Georgia, and Im a traveling lineman. Was arrested for felony weapon charges, while sitting in my truck in the hotel parking lot. Pure ignorance of the law, and 100% compliance, honesty, and even telling the cops that I had nothing but respect for them had me looking at charges that would very possibly cost me everything Ive worked for for 20 years. This was my first jail experience, and was treated like an absolute dog. I didnt realize how unfairly you could be treated as an innocent person, even if it was just innocent until proven guilty. I was recommended to find George by a fellow inmate, one of my best friends is a lawyer in GA, he recommended George, and my mother in law who had my back, and sought out the best lawyer in Michigan, which was George. He had two felonies charges turned into a civil infraction, and $200 fine. But more importantly, I still have my house, vehicles, and the ability to continue my career, and my families livelihood. Would also like to mention that Im a conservative redneck hillbilly from GA, and while sitting in a crowded holding cell in Macomb county Michigan, with all types and colors, that the only bad people in there were jailers. A young black man used his phone money to help me contact my wife, and every time I tried to ask anything, I was screamed at by the jailers. If it wasnt for the criminals around me, and all the advice, and telling me what to expect, I would probably still be in jail. I have a complete different perspective on things now, and completely respect, and appreciate criminal defense attorneys.

I wasnt comfortable with the representation I was receiving from them, and was referred to Lewis & Dickstein by an old friend that used to be a lawyer.I had a consultation with Parisa Sadrnia. After 20 minutes of talking with Parisa, I was aware that this is the firm and the lawyer I wanted to represent my case. I was not wrong. My original lawyer told me I was screwed, and might get jail time.Parisa was confident she could do much more for me, and she did. Comment: Loren Dickstein honestly saved my life today. I have been in an ongoing court case for over 2 years, covid slowed down the process a lot. I had hired counsel to handle most of this case previously. I had accepted a plea, the judge denied it, and my previous lawyer told me that was it- I was going to serve time in prison for my charges. That’s when I called Loren. I decided to make the call based on his reviews alone and his glowing history of awards and rankings in the legal community. I was very skeptical at first because I didn’t really think there was a way out of my sentence. Since the start, he was extremely attentive and detail oriented. Comment: I first met Loren and his team in 2016 when I hired him for my husbands state case felon in possession of firearm. He was charged by the state and federal but federal cases are very expensive so had court appointed for federal and Loren for state. First let me mention I live in Texas and I didn’t find one lawyer who was as honest and to the point as Loren. Loren, George and his team worked tremendously hard and were able to achieve excellent results. In 2019 I hired Loren again for help with my husband while he was in federal custody. My husband was wrongfully placed in the SHU and Loren successfully got them to not only place him back in general population but he was transferred to a camp which is the lowest security clearance in federal prison. In 2020 I hired Loren and his team again to help with compassionate release for my husband due to COVID concerns. I first tried going the cheap route and it was such a big mistake but Loren jumped in and corrected the previous lawyers mistakes right away. They went above and beyond for us, the professionalism, the research, and the efficiency is outstanding from this firm.The judge didn’t grant the compassionate release but it was not for lack of effort or presentation but for the simple fact that my husband was considered very low risk health wise. His law firm is so amazing that even my family has sought out his services(won their cases).when Hurricane Laura hit my husbands facility this past week I sought out Loren again to see if we should try to appeal the Original compassionate release case. Whereas many lawyers would have just taken the money knowing I would have lost, Loren gave me truthful and honest advice. Comment: I had a very positive experience. I was fairly charged, not inexpensive but a good value for the level of service they provided me on my felony charge in Macomb County, Michigan. The lawyers and staff called me back when I left a message and I appreciated that someone always answered the phone, I never got a machine or voicemail when I called. My case started in Sterling Heights and we were there for a few hearings and then the case was transferred to the Mt. Clemens Circuit Court on N. Main St.. My husband and I were impressed with how the lawyers worked together and didn’t let egos get in the way. As they told me when I hired them, they collaborate to get the best result. This is very true. Comment: I hired L&D to represent me on an OWI in Oakland County in Bloomfield Hills. My BAC was over the .08 limit and I was in an accident. I was so worried I was going to be matched up with Judge Small in the 48th but I got Judge Baron. He was very fair and I was able to stay out of jail. Loren, Randy and George helped me and they were the best! They always returned calls and answered my questions and they were down to earth and friendly but fought like badgers in court. I didn’t know any criminal defense attorneys in Bloomfield or in Oakland County who could help me with this OWI case and found this firm on the internet. The attorney fees were reasonable but not inexpensive but my life, my freedom, and my license were were more than the few bucks I could have saved if I hired some lesser attorneys. Worth every penny!

Comment: Just before his final conference, my husband reached out to George M. Brown of Lewis & Dickstein looking for better representation. Within five minutes of their first phone conversation, George had researched the charges against my husband, which carried a maximum of 14 years in prison and 25 years as a sex offender, and asked more questions about the case than our previous lawyer had in months. We hired him on the spot. George dropped everything to come to Traverse City the following day and represent my husband for his final conference, all the Friday of Memorial weekend. Met Mr. Dickstein and could tell right away he was different than other lawyers we interviewed. He honored my wishes for pushing a negotiated Cobbs Agreement and against all odds pushed it across the finish line - PROBATION, NO JAIL!! When I was seeking an attorney to help me, I REALLY needed someone that would fight for me. I had a warrant for my arrest for basically the same charge I was already on probation for in 2 different citys, in the same county.. so this would make 3...(what the heck was I thinking?!) I am not going to go into too much detail about my case but Ill just say that I was looking at not only a felony (the warrant), I was about to violate both of my probations...I have a 3 year old daughter that depends on me, I can not exaggerate enough that I, absolutely NEEDED someone to fight for me... cutting this really short, I do not have a felony, I am not in jail, and I was sentenced to almost the minimum possible, Thanks to Mr, Dickstein and Mr. Lewis. Comment: Loren made me feel extremely comfortable in a situation that has been one of the most serious of my life. The comfort didnt come from coddling, or selling false hope, and it definitely didnt come from empty promises. He is very proactive, very dependable and really upfront.The initial contact was when I called the 24hr office line, after business hours. I received a call, the following morning from Loren. I expected it to be a representative and was working. I was already nervous about my situation, but the fact that he checked in, was a huge deal. He asked preliminary info like my court date and offense(s). My court date was way down the line, and I had 2 months to figure out representation and finance stuff.We followed up again, when he called a couple weeks later, but he let me know that I could contact him when my funds were ok. He let me know, that even though I was calling a month ahead of time, that if I didnt get the retainer funds until the week before, that the team was experienced and prepared.(*Fast forward tidbit**, I Called 6 firms in 10/2023.. *Mr. Dickstein and I have already been to court 3 times and received my sentence, and 2 of the 5 originally contacted lawyers, havent even responded.)I gathered the funds and called back. He offered the interview flexibility between in-person and on the phone. For everything Ive been through about this case, I opted to meet. The meeting was not very long, but factual and informational. When I would mumble nervously or jabber (a slight goofy thing about me..), he pointedly and calmly redirected to the facts and realities. I knew he was listening, but I was just at a shameful point in my life. Its a big deal, when youre reassured with FACTS and potential outcomes.I couldnt have hired better representation. Mr. Dicksteins appearance is professional and his eloquence is everything. He has a seriousness and class about him, which communicates comfortably in court. The judge will give you your 15 seconds, but might give your defense team, 3 minutes. When I say, that Loren made the MOST out of those 3 minutes?!.. Wow!.(We had three appearances, and he was early for every one. We always sat in the front row, which is best. Anyone in this situation, shouldnt be bumbling from the back, or stepping over people, while preparing to go before judgement.)He started with FACTS, mixed with some meaningful biography. He said everything positive and helpful about me, within the opening. Because my offense was so aggregious, the judge interrupted him. But then, my whole lawyer, didnt fumble and continued with other recommendations (a little more for me, but not at all what I could have been facing). He made sure to have a response to meet the judges discomfort/dismay.I never realized how fast, counsel has to speak to respond and present to the judge. As a side note, Ive seen cases where lawyers fumble and stutter and shuffle pages, but I have never been more amazed than when I noticed that being ON POINT, was another one of his strengths.The fact that he remains organized and has already absorbed his clients backstory, while having the knowledge to speak quickly and CLEARLY to a judge, means everything.*Again, the lawyers communication means EVERYTHING. Judges hear tons of cases, and recognize excuses immediately. Loren made sure that I presented the best summary for my case. He summarized my main points, and balanced with what the judge wanted and needed to hear.My case was difficult for my family and livelihood. Loren secured the most favorable outcome we could have hoped for. I would recommend him to anyone trying to save their job, or life, or livelihood.
